Art at Hooper Studios is a unique centre for creative learning,
artistic expression and energy wellness.

Hooper Studios is located in a stunning natural setting surrounded by forty acres of beautiful woodlands, fields and gardens and just below us the amazingly beautiful Kennebecasis river winds through islands and marshland, a paradise of birds and wildlife.

History

Art and Energy Wellness workshops and creative classes take place either outside, weather permitting, or in a large, sunny studio with good working areas, a small library of art books, and homemade cookies and tea to enjoy.  The emphasis of all the instruction is on the process rather than the finished product, and students learn to explore the important connections between art and nature.

Hooper Studios Gallery – History:

The gallery is the space in which Kathy’s husband John Hooper, carved his sculptures. He designed the building and with much help from family and friends built it.  John worked on many of his major pieces after the studio was built. The bronze of Terry Fox, (in Ottawa, on Parliament Hill) the “Flying in” for Toronto  and many others. It was always interesting to go there with huge pieces of Mahogany lying around being laminated together, tools being sharpened and the smell of oil and glue. He was a brilliant man with such an imagination and sense always, of who he was and what he wanted to do. It is a lovely space with good natural lighting and windows that overlook the beautiful valley of the Kennebecasis river. John died  in 2006 and following some renovations opened in 2009 as a gallery.
